SoundBrewer :: Kontakt Tutorial :: How to Load GigaStudio banks or SoundFonts
How to load GigaStudio (.gig) or SoundFonts (.sf2) in NI Kontakt
1. If you have purchased Instantly Downloaded sounds from SoundBrewer you will want to first unzip the files and copy them to your hard drive. (We suggest you create a directory like “c:\SoundBrewer Samples”, although you can create any directory, or unzip the files to your desktop.)
If you have purchased a sample disc you can load the sounds directly off the disc, or copy them to your hard drive.
2. Open Native Instruments Kontakt. On the left side of Kontakt is the file browser. Browse to the directory that contains the sample you would like to load (for example "c:\SoundBrewer Samples").
3. Browse to the GigaStudio (.gig) or SoundFont (.sf2) file you would like to load and open it (either double click the file or click the + box). This will open the file containing the ‘Programs' folder and the ‘Samples' folder.
4. Select the programs folder and the available presets will show in the lower browser window. Double click the preset you would like to load.

5. The GigaStudio bank or SoundFont is automatically converted and loaded.
You can edit the sample to get more control over the sound, or use the file as it is.
